The room was absolutely tiny, no room to move in it. The balcony was just as tiny and really dirty with stains everywhere. Dirty, dusty, uncleaned. The bed was on the window, that's how small the room is. A lot of noise from people walking past as the street is right next to your room. Definitely not worth the money they charge for their rooms. We even had a power outage and they don't have generators. No cafe or restaurant, no gym or pool. Not a great place to stay.
Perfect for a visit to Canberra and wanting to be close to the Kingston area. Pet friendly apartments and couldn't recommend enough. If you're passing through and looking for comfortable accommodation then look no further!
We were locked out of our room one evening as our card could not access our floor and then we could not access the basement car park the next morning.
The after hours service (Kingston has no one there from 8pm to 8am), resolved the first incident after two phone calls by re-programming a new card to give us access to our floor.
The second after hours issue was not resolved by Abode.
We had to return home early in the morning due to some urgent family matters. Our card would not allow us to access the lift to the car park (that we had parked in the night before). The best option the after hours phone service could suggest was to keep asking other residents to use their cards to access the carpark. After three attempts we gave up as the other residents, those up early enough, did not have cars or access to the basement.
Eventually we discovered our card worked on the access point at the top of the external driveway. So at 7.15 in the morning we wheeled our luggage around the outside of the building and were able to gain access to the car park that way.
We won't be back and will not recommend this hotel chain.
Horrible service.
I arrived for check in and the receptionist was on the phone, she didn’t even acknowledge my presence and left me waiting for well over 10 minutes before starting to process my check in.
The next day, I came back to find the room was not cleaned and no new towels, and when I asked them to clean the room she said sorry the housekeeping staff have left already.
Avoid this hotel if you can. I’ve stayed at many hotels in Canberra, this is definitely at the bottom of the list.
The room we were allocated was unacceptably small and had an outlook onto a concrete wall. Could not open the cupboard without moving the bed next to the window. The room bore no resemblance to the advertised pictures and was completely overpriced for what we got. The only redeeming quality was the location of the hotel which was very convenient. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Very cool! There is a large supermarket just a 3-minute walk across the street; the washing machine is an integrated washing and drying machine. So convenient! Will stay here next time!
Room was perfect for a short stay, very clean and had everything you need. No housekeeping during our stay but reception had supplies for coffee, milk, shampoo etc.
Location is good but don’t stay here in summer. The air con in the rooms is pathetic. Have been moved rooms twice because the aircon doesn’t work. If you’re charging a premium price you need to have airconditong that works in the middle of summer. Very disappointing and uncomfortvale
The perfect place to stay in Canberra, close to a great selection of restaurants, shops and pubs, plus there is on street parking after 5.30pm most days. Very nice and modern rooms.
Pet friendly. Just need to ensure that the pet plan chosen is actually what is booked . Otherwise they may not have a spare room to change to .. which happened to us.
